Rustic Romance – Wedding & Event Inspiration

Haven’t done a mood board in ages, so I thought I’d do one this morning!

Here are some great ideas around the theme of ‘Rustic Romance’ – incorporating classic rustic luxury themes into weddings/events that add a certain charm and atmosphere 🙂 Everything from hessianto chalk boards and wooden hearts – all of these elements can be combined to create something really really lovely.

Here are some more ideas: A love-themed rustic bridal shower, a whole selection of rustic wedding favours, a bunch of country rustic wedding theme ideas and a rustic-themed garden baby shower! Enjoy!

Valentines Day – A Bit of a DIY Style Guide!

Yes I know, us girls go a little gaga for the 14th of February, even if you’re like me who really isn’t into teddy bears, silk  hearts, massive boxes of chocolates and schmaltz. I do however, like a nice card and some flowers – I mean, who doesn’t?

Anyway this is Valentine’s Month, so I thought we’d kick it off on The Good Girls Guide with a bit of a DIY style guide for any cool love-themed knick-knacks you’re keen to make. And these can be used on your husband/boyfriend/crush OR as a love-themed tea/celebration with your girlfriends…who said Valentines Day has to be just for couples?!

As for me? I’ll be doing something rather unusual on Valentines Day: a 10km trail run just above Kirstenbosch Botantical Gardens with my hubby – and hopefully sharing a picnic afterwards. But first! Here comes the DIY inspiration:

Friday *Cupcakes & Kisses*

My lovely friend Taryn Farr has started her own confectionary company called Cupcakes and Kisses, and I just had to share some of the delicious treats with you! Perfect for some yummy Friday inspiration – indeed!

She does pretty cupcakes, crazy kids confectionary, beautiful wedding cakes and a whole bunch more…makes me wish I had the patience, the time and the energy – because WOW it all looks so amazing and super delicious!
