The time is almost here! I can’t believe Christmas is just around the corner – the year has certainly flown. I want to thank you all for your readership of The Good Girls Guide this year – some new and exciting things are planned for 2013 FOR SURE!
May you and your family have a truly blessed and magical Christmas next Tuesday – I pray God fills your day with joy and love, and Santa fills the stockings 🙂
Phillipians 2 vs 1-2: “Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.”

Are there rules to live by? Rules that apply to everyone in the world? Well probably not, but it might be good to start with what God has asked of, commanded of and promised us – Love God, Love Your Neighbors… I reckon those are some good words of advice that everyone in the world could and should live by.
Found this on the weekend and thought I’d share with you – some good advice on life’s little ‘house rules’, being kind to dancing crazy and being silly! Have a super Monday xxx

Days come when things don’t go right, stuff gets us down, people make us upset, we disappoint ourselves… and the food burns in the oven. Sometimes we have days like that, and its just means we need to draw just a little deeper within ourselves and find the strength to move forward and above.
The human spirit is really amazing, and I think we doubt or don’t expect to find the amazing strength we have within us. I read a book recently about a Jewish man who had escaped from Treblinka during World War 2. The daily atrocities he was faced with are something we cannot even comprehend – but somehow (somewhere) he took each day as something to overcome and his incredible strength and hope for a real future kept him going.
I was rather humbled when I read this account, and it made my little troubles seem so incredibly insignificant; how could I even complain about a bad day when terrible days happen every day around the world to so many people? Am I unable to gather the strength to get over a bad day when others are drawing incredible momentum to escape from atrocities?
The good thing in ALL of this, is that God is the beacon of strength and light in each one of us. I firmly believe that He is the one that gives us the strength to get us through tough times – even tiny insignificant bad days. Today’s post was drawn out of me having a ‘bad day’, but has grown into a realisation in myself that our strength is worth fighting for, and ALWAYS worth asking God for.
“For I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens Me” – Phillipians 4:13
Psalm 119 vs 81-82: “My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word”
“I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.”
“My soul is weak from waiting for you to save me. My hope is based on your word.”
“I’m homesick—longing for your salvation;
I’m waiting for your word of hope. “
Hi lovely people! Here is a great little slice of inspiration I came across today…when life is tough, things get thrown at you and you don’t know why…focus on getting through each day at a time, and finding joy in triumphing over troubles.
It’s the question we put to God when times are hard, ‘Lord, why did that have to happen? It hurts!’…and all he wants us to do is draw closer to him and walk through the pain hand in hand. Life is about learning to Dance in the Rain!

While we wait for the vote to come in on whether or not the Secrecy Bill has been passed (and thus interferring in the purest form of Democracy), I encourage us to think of the good in this day, even in the small things.
Go get a really good cup of coffee and let the aroma take you in…marvel at the view outside your window…call your mom and say thank you…email your hubby and say I love you...tip your car-guard…plan a holiday…go for a run on the mountain…take your mom-in-law for lunch…get that perfect Christmas gift…and always be glad that God gave us another day.
Even if today doesn’t end well – and the fight may continue in strengthening our democracy – look to the good and celebrate that.
