Green-Inspired DIY & Decor Ideas | Friday Fun

Hello lovelies! Apologies for the lack of blog posts in a while, I’ve hardly had a chance to breathe! Work has been heading towards D-day (T minus a week!) and we have just put our flat on the market. Lots of DIY & decluttering has taken place, both in my head, and at home. We’ve painted our balcony white and bright to impress potential buyers, cleared and moved away all the endless sports equipment, camping goods and bric-a-brac and now finally have a spacious apartment that looks amazing!

In the process, I’ve realised something I’d like to implement in our new house (wherever it ends up being) is some more eco-friendly and green DIY decor ideas. So I’ve wandered the halls of Pinterest and grabbed some great ideas – what do you guys think? Please also post some ideas or links to similar if you can! Have a super Friday and a blessed weekend x

Summer Home Inspiration – Bakoven Beach Bungalow

Today it is officially 32 degrees in Cape Town, which officially means that Summer has arrived! Very excited to start hitting the beach, sun-tanning, wearing cute shorts & skirts, staying outside longer in the evenings and just soaking up the happy vibes 🙂

To celebrate the start of November (already, I can hardly believe it!) and the lovely weather, I have found some amazing beach decor inspiration with this amazing home right on Bakoven beach in Cape Town. Beach Bungalow is classic beach style: long lazy wooden decks, crisp white wooded floors and open rafters, and of course – beautiful beach views.

Some ideas for incorporating a bit of ‘beach style’ into your house this summer: collect drift wood or simply get some old pieces of wood from a woodcutter, paint white and give a quick sand and arrange artfully on a dresser or hang on the wall; collect shells, drill holes in them and string them up in your bathroom or outside on your patio or porch; bring in a nautical theme with some recovered stripey cushions, curtains or kitchenwear in red, white and navy.

Have a super BEACH inspired weekend! x
