One thing I love about weddings is the flowers, and in particular, the bouquets. Many brides I’ve known have had the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, some traditional and some a little different. I’ve decided to put together 10 gorgeous and unique bouquets, just to show that you don’t have to always use the typical baby’s breath & white roses combination, or even real flowers at all!
From jeweled bouquets, to posies made out of sweets, lace, soft fabric and even wire butterflies, there’s really a whole lot you can do with your wedding bouquet. My advice if you’re keen on something a little different, is to still make sure it fits in with your general dress/design/decor of the day – maybe even follow through with same treats on the table, vintage books covered in the same fabric or jewels in your hair…
Be inspired ladies! Here’s 10 of the best 🙂

Hello lovelies! So sorry it’s been a while since I posted last, but I’m serving up a beautiful blog post of massive proportions! I’ve been out of the wedding scene for a while – only went to one last year and one this year (so far), but both brides wore the most gorgeous dresses, and therefore I was inspired to post about – you guessed it – dresses.
But not just dresses, but beautiful coloured wedding dresses that grab the eye, make the heart race faster, make the ladies go ‘ah’ and the guys go ‘oh!’…there’s something about taking the traditional white dress and throwing a tint of sorts to make it stand out from the crowd. I’m not suggesting go bold in your colour, but as if you’d dunked it in mint tea or lavender petals and given a character-filled aspect to it. Anyway, enjoy the post, I certainly do!

Hi everyone! Apologies for not blogging for a while – work has been manically busy and life has been even more so! Having thrown myself into training for the 2 Oceans Half Marathon (gulp – next weekend!) I’m now feeling fit and strong, boosted on by my Argus Cycle Tour training 🙂 A big winner here – did my best time: 4.36! Very happy with it and hoping to improve again next year.
Anyway, back to today’s blog post! If I stop and think for a second, I realise that a few friends, colleagues & acquaintances have all gotten married in the past couple of weeks – literally about 5 people I know of! And with my 2 year engagement anniversary coming up next month, it got me thinking of my wedding day and how amazing it all was…if I could fly back in time and watch that day unfold again I would! My husband and I were listening to audio clips on his cell phone the other day, listening to what he’d recorded in the weeks and days running up to our wedding and I was reminded just how incredibly special that time of our lives was.
And so, for whimsical, sentimental reasons I’m blogging Wedding Dresses today – beautiful sparkly, unique and special dresses that I’ve spotted here and there – and all of which could do with some air time! So if you’re married, remember back to the day your wore your dress down the aisle, if you’re looking ahead to your day – dream on 🙂 & as always, be inspired!

Happy Friday Good Girls! Found this gorgeous website company called My Pretty Vintage; they specialise in decor for vintage styled events like weddings, kitchen teas and birthdays – and all their decor is their OWN! fabulous stuff.
My very own wedding was vintage inspired with old suitcases, books tied with ribbons, glass jars and candles and fynbos, proteas and wildflowers all over the place. But imagine creating an event with silver cakestands overflowing with goodies, beautiful china teasets adorning the tables, lace tableclothes and an old fashioned post box? That’s My Pretty Vintage, conveniently South African, affordable and beautiful 🙂
So this post is dedicated to all things Vintage 🙂 Enjoy the lovely photos below, taken by the talented Monica Dart of Monica Dart Photography.

The historical disaster that was the Queen of all things ‘over-the-top’, yes we’re talking about Marie Antoinette, has certainly given us some seriously glamourous inspiration for parties, weddings, dress-ups, tea parties and more… Sorry my dear, but we’ll eat cake without you…
Glamourized and rocked up by Kirsten Dunst in the 2006 movie ‘Marie Antoinette’, the queen historically met an untimely end, but not before creating a serious name for herself as an overspender of note. Anyway, we’re looking on the bright side of things and dedicating this post on The Good Girls Guide to the gloriously badass, Marie Antoinette 🙂 MWAH

I love proteas. They are such a gorgeous, stand-out flower and really add a natural element to any occasion! With the Bokke winning (closely!) over Wales this morning, I thought I’d pay a tribute to the humble South African protea – my country’s national flower.
Proteas look amazing for a wedding, AND they are pretty affordable. The best thing is that they don’t need much additional foliage to make a statement. White linen, clear glasses and white candles are actually the best complimentary items that’ll make your proteas stand out.
